Things I'm Loving (Link-Up with Speak Only Words of Kindness) {March 2017}

My lovely friend Camille over at Speak Only Words of Kindness takes one day a month to share what she is loving in her life. Having been a seeker of joy and appreciation of "the little things" for a while...Well, I finally decided to take the plunge. Here we go!

1. Red Lipstick

I'm by no means a make-up guru, saving it only for special occasions and a date or two here and there, but after my fellow woman-in-arms at Grow showed up recently with a red pout...she ROCKED it, and I knew that I had to give it a shot! After a little online digging through various sources to the degree of "best red lipstick shade for fair skinned blondes", I now own not one but two shades, one being a bit more PINK than red (pictured) and the other definitely...red! It's just a fun twist! Have fun! Just have fun :)

2. Cocoa Shea Coconut Body Wash from Bath and Body Works

I'm such a sucker for Bath and Body Works, y'all. Not a joke. Their new "CocoShea" line, though, has me Ob. Sessed. with a capital O. This Coconut body wash is creamy and smells so, so nice. Give it a try! (P.S. Last time I was there, all their CocoShea products were 2 for $22, so give something else a try, too!)

3. Urban Rescue

In addition to being a sucker for B&BW, I'm also a bit of a sucker for new music. I stumbled upon Urban Rescue by complete accident and I just love their sound!! It's catchy, it's fun, it's original, it's just good Christian music that I think should be all over K-LOVE and Air 1! I posted a link to my favorite song, but some of their other good ones are "Song of My Father", "Fling Wide", and "Wild Heart".

4. "You and Me Forever" Devotional: Francis and Lisa Chan

Having just surpassed the 14 month mark with J (wooooowwwwwwwww!!!!!!!), I've always kept in the back of my mind something I read in a book early on in our relationship, "Focus on becoming the right person." I've tried to do devotionals related to relationships, marriage, etc, since then and this one by Francis and Lisa Chan has really grabbed me! What I've enjoyed the most is their use of Scripture, it's really allowed me to dig deep into the Word, continuing to strengthen the foundation we've been doing our best to build since day 1.

Here's an excerpt from today's reading:

Paul says in Romans 12:10 that we are to "outdo one another in showing honor." Can you imagine if this became an accurate description of your marriage? What problems would you face if you were both primarily concerned with honoring each other, rather than exalting yourselves? If you took this self-sacrificing as seriously as Jesus did, then your spouse would have no grounds for complaining, and you wouldn't respond in anger even if he or she did. Marriage is about God's glory. It's about His mission for us. Only those marriages that are characterized by humility call attention to the self-sacrificing love of Jesus.

What are you loving in your life, friends? Hopefully something...There's plenty of good to be found!
